You don’t realize that you’ve started expecting them to be around. You’ll notice how much you were in the moment them once upon a time, because a separation at any time is too clinical, sudden, and deep. You feel this gaping nothingness in the space where that someone used to be. 

 Maybe they didn’t love you. Maybe they didn’t reciprocate the closeness you craved. Maybe they even hurt you all too much because of god knows what. But still, if not for the sake of avoiding that feeling of emptiness inside, you continue to long for their presence… They’ve become a habit to you, after all.
